Ina Garden is an American author of cookbooks who has won Emmy Awards. She hosts the most popular Food Network series, Barefoot Contessa. The series premiered in 2002. It will air for another 27 seasons. Ina started her career as a writer for the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy papers. She initially found her career as stimulating intellectually, but eventually lost interest and bought a small market for specialty foods called Barefoot Contessa. Her store was extremely successful throughout the 18 years that she made the decision to close it. Then she began writing the first book. The other cookbooks came out, as were magazine articles. In addition, her Food Network TV show also was launched with great success. She also sells a range of products ranging from cooking supplies to equipment and storage containers. Ina is not a student at any cookery schools, or was employed at a restaurant. Ina can be taught by herself. Her easy-going approach to entertaining and her straightforward cook style are very well-known. Her name is associated with her easy recipes like Skillet Baked Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese with Beef Bourguignon and Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
